Sometimes I think the best good I do for folks is to give them housing, food, clothing etc, but yesterday I got a letter from a man who is doing time for his crime.  He had asked me to write to him which I did.  Last night I read his response.  I thought you would like to read the letter.

 “Dear Monsignor Beiting,

I knew that a man like you who cares for and shepherds so many would take the time to write me back, though at the same time I didn’t allow myself to expect it.  That much greater the blessing it was when I received it this Wednesday morning lying on my bunk not expecting anything.  A great blessing indeed as it stirred my soul and touched my heart that having reached out in such a seemingly small way God’s purpose of love and brotherhood is accomplished.

I know it may seem a lot to say about just a letter, but then where would we be if the Saints Paul or Peter etc had not put pen to paper (or parchment).  Anyway I just wanted you to know that it meant so much and that I am proud to be a brother and servant of yourself and of the Lord Jesus Christ to whom I commit my soul for the good, amen.  I hope this letter will impart to you the same spirit of love that yours did to me and may we walk in said same forever.

 Yours Truly and Prayerfully

 Brian Hall”
